Natural Instinct Teat
Recommended Sterilisation Methods
Due to the complexity of our Airshield® Valve shape and design we DO NOT recommend microwave or UV sterilisation. These methods can disrupt the valve's ability to automatically open and regulate airflow during use.
Our recommended sterilisation methods are as follows:
1. Boiling
2. Electric Steam/Dry Steriliser
3. Dishwasher (Top Rack)
Product Instructions
- If you are finding the Airshield® Valve is not working or you cannot see a continous stream or formation of bubbles as your baby drinks, the valve may require massaging. Simply use your thumb and index finger, place them on either side of the valve tip and gently squeeze your fingers together until the valve opens. You will see a small hole at the tip of the valve if this method works. After this the valve should work. If you are having difficulty with this step, please contact us via our 'Contact Us' page
- Check embossed teat size (NB, SS, S, M, X) on the side of each teat and ensure it suits your baby's needs by using age as a reference guide. Your child may need a slower or faster teat outside their age. As a guide, a feed should take approximately 20 minutes.
- Set a reminder on a calendar to buy new teats every 12 weeks for a teat that is sterilised and used once a day, replace more frequently for more intensive usage
*Please check product packaging for further information*
Health & Safety Information
- Check each teat frequently to ensure each one is intact and that there are no tears or damage from teeth.
- Do not use a needle to increase hole size as this could create a tear as disrupt the calculated flow rate.
- After each use, wash thoroughly using Lil'Kooee's Teat Brush in hot, soapy water, rinse and sterilise.
Airshield® Valve Troubleshooting
-
Can't See Air Bubbles?
Sometimes the valve may not open properly due to formula residue getting stuck inside or very rarely they can sometimes reseal after sterilisation. If you are finding there are no bubbles visible during a feed, the valve may need to be manually opened. If you use your two thumbs, place them on either side of the valve, and gently squeeze the valve, it will open - please refer to the photo as an example of this.
Please note, every online order that includes Natural Instinct Teats will also have a small white stick with a blunt tip, which can also be used to gentle spread the valve flaps open instead.
If neither of these methods work for you, please contact us and we will help you resolve the issue.
