The flat, flexible tip is designed to engage the tongue and palate in order to effortless clean the spoon head, rather than requiring their top lip. Many of the wider silicone spoons that are deep and have a curled front tip will mean more lip feeding rather than engaging the correct oral muscles.
Yes absolutely! The firm rectangular handle will encourage a tight 'palmer grasp', keeping their wrist locked in place as they guide the spoon to their mouth. The flat tip alongside the deeper base will offer a more successful mouthful as well as eliminating the need to do an upper sweep motion to use their top lip to clear the spoon contents.
