Yes! PA is naturally BPA, BPS, BPF & toxin-free.

PA has a high heat resistance of <180°C. Standard sterilisation temperatures reach a boiling point of 100°C, therefore heat does not impact or break down the material in the same way as PP, which only has a temperature resistance of 100-110°C. Microplastic exposure is a result of the internal degrading of the plastic. The clouding of the plastic also seen in traditional PP bottles are the additives added for visual clarity breaking down as well. This is why PP bottles need replacing every 3-6 months depending on frequency of use. PA bottles will not require as frequent replacing with expected lifespan of 12 months+ as long as they are cleaned/sterilisation using the recommended methods.

This is one of the mains reasons why we designed and developed the Lil'Kooee Natural Instinct Bottles & Teats. There is a HUGE amount of misinformation online that wide neck teats mimic a breast, but that is not the case. Not based of our own bias, but based of factual scientific information. Have you ever wondered why maternity wards across the world still use narrow neck teats. Because narrow neck teats have more functional similarities that more effectively mimic the biological functionality of a breast. Due to the contoured shape of a narrow neck teat, the shape offers the same deep latch a breast nipple offers in order to trigger a baby's instinctive sucking reflex. This reflex is was further stimulates a baby's natural suck-swallow-breathe pattern which both in return, encourage optimal oral muscle development & nutritional intake as well as calm, instinctive feeding.

Additionally, we've added our own Lil'Kooee differences to our narrow neck teats. First is our calibrated 'NB' and 'SS' flow rates. These flow rates have been meticulously calibrated to offer genuine 'slow flow' rates. Our 'NB' teat is 4.98mls/min which offers an extremely close replication of what would be experienced on the breast. Comparatively, Pigeon Flexible­™ Peristaltic 0+ is at 12.36mls/min & Dr Brown's Preemie Flow is at 13.77mls. These flow rates are exactly why pace feeding has become a feeding strategy - to control how fast the milk flow is and to minimise colic & reflux due to ingested wind.

Yes! Our 250ml Natural Instinct Bottles comes with our 'S' flow Natural Instinct Teat, which is suitable for 3-6 months.

Our 120ml bottles come with our 'NB' flow Natural Instinct Teat, which offers a genuine 'slow flow' for newborns up to approx. 5kg. (Flow rate of 4.98mls/min)

This comes down to personal preference. Some parents like the 120ml bottles for their Newborn - 2 month old as the bottles have the right volume and our 'NB' Natural Instinct Teat.

Other parents prefer to opt for the 250ml bottles to begin with along with extra packs of our 'NB' and 'SS' flow Natural Instinct Teats. This options allows feeding coverage from 0 - 6 months.

The best sterilisation methods for PA are steam-dry sterilising, boiling, top rack dishwasher and cold water chemical stilierisers such as Milton.

While we have found no immediate issues with PA being UV sterilised, multiple international health departments state they do not recommend UV sterilisation due to minimal long-term safety data around this sterilisation method. For this reason, we also DO NOT recommend this sterilisatino method for our bottles and encourage parents not to use one for any baby product.

Our bottles CAN NOT be microwave sterilised as PA cannot withstand the microwave energy developed in a microwave. We also encouraged parents not to microwave any plastic baby bottle as plastic does not have the material integrity to withstand the volatile heat environment created in a microwave. The only material safe to microwave is glass.
